National Recognition

In July 2025, she was conferred upon, the national award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), this is coming on the heels of the previous national award, the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) conferred on her by the President of Nigeria, in September 2014, Asisat was awarded in recognition of her outstanding contributions to sports and national pride 

Philanthropy & Legacy

Driven by her passion for empowering the girl-child, Asisat founded the Asisat Oshoala Foundation in 2015, focusing on education, sports, and leadership for girls in underserved communities.

In 2021, she launched the Asisat Oshoala Academy (AOA) in partnership with Nike and Women Win, as a structured platform to nurture young female athletes in Nigeria. The Academy combines football training with life skills, vocational education, and community engagement—impacting thousands of girls across Lagos and beyond.

A Role Model for a Generation

Popularly known as “Àgba Baller” (Legendary Footballer), Asisat is not only a football icon but also a symbol of resilience, excellence, and purpose. Her journey from the streets of Lagos to global football stardom continues to inspire countless young girls to dream big and break barriers.
